Abstract

Висвітлено життєвий шлях та досягнення всесвітньо відомого вченого астронома Клима Івановича Чурюмова. Описано проект «Розетта» Європейського космічного агентства, завданням якого стало зближення космічного апарата з ядром комети, відкритої Чурюмовим і Герасименко, а також посадка модуля з науковою апаратурою на ядро з метою дослідження його хімічного складу й фізичних властивостей.; The life and achievements of world-renowned scientist astronomer Klim Churyumov Ivanovich are considered. He is known as a discoverer of Churyumov Gerasimenko and Churyumov Solodovnikov comets. Project Rosetta of European Cosmic Agency is described. The aim of the project was convergence of the spacecraft with the nucleus of the comet, discovered by Churyumov and Gerasimenko and also module landing with space equipment to the nucleus, aimed to make a research of its chemical content and physical properities. A lot of attention is payed to scientist's research and educative activities. Klim Churyumov was a Person of the Year 1998, according to International Biographical Center in Cambridge (Great Britain). As well he was considered as a Person of XX century, by American Biographical Institute (Reley city, North Carolina).
