Формування біографічного методу в українському літературознавстві ХІХ ст.

Abstract

У статті виокремлено й розглянуто три основних етапи формування біографічного методу в українському літературознавстві: перший – етап зародження, представлений дослідженнями М. Максимовича та М. Косто-марова; другий – етап становлення, презентований статтями П. Куліша; третій – етап утвердження, пов’язаний із входженням у літературознавчий дискурс багатоаспектних досліджень І. Франка. На початковому етапі формування біографічного методу подані в літературно-критичних працях авторські «життєписи» виконували суто інформативну функцію – представляли життєвий шлях письменника, однак не увиразнювали його «літературного портрета» – жодним чином не відстежували специфіки впливу біографії на творчість. На другому етапі дослідники літератури стали звертати увагу на зв’язок біографічних фактів із творчим доробком митця, проте лише третій період формування біографічного методу ознаменований виробленням власне науко-вого підходу до вивчення біографій: усвідомлено вплив біографії на змістовий (тематика, проблематика, хронотоп, герої-персонажі) та формальний (поетикально-стильові особливості) рівні твору, до обґрунтування літературознавчих теорій залучено показові факти з життя письменника, розпочато осмислення проблеми психології творчості тощо. Біографічний метод став плацдармом для виникнення психоаналітичних концепцій на початку ХХ ст.The article points out and deals with the three main stages of the formation of the biographical method in the study of Ukrainian literature: the first one is the stage of initiation represented by the studies of M. Maksymovych and M. Kostomarov; the second one is the stage of formation represented by the articles of P. Kulish; the third one is the stage of consolidation connected with the introduction of the multifold studies of I. Franko in the literary discourse. In the initial stage of the formation of the biographical method the authors’ «biographies» performed just an informative function in the literary and critical works. They represented the life of the writer but they didn’t show his «literary portrait» and the peculiarity of the influence of biography upon the works. In the second stage the researchers of literature began to pay attention to the connection of biographical facts and works of the artist. However, just the third stage of the formation of the biographical method is connected with the producing of the scientific approach to the study of biographies. The influence of biography upon the contents (subjects, problems, chronotope, characters) and formal (poetical and style peculiarities) parts of the work was realized. The significant facts of the writer’s life were used while explaining the literary theories and the comprehension of the problem of the psychology of the works began. The biographical method became the base for the rise of psychoanalytical conceptions at the beginning of the XXth century.
