Англомовний концепт Security (лінгвокогнітивне дослідження ядерної і медіальної зон)

Abstract

У статті запропоновано дефініційний аналіз вербальних одиниць, що утворюють номінативне поле кон¬цепту SECURITY. Отримані дані дають змогу виокремити із них набір дискретних змістових парцел – сем, які, будучи семантичними (тобто не матеріальними) сутностями, набувають свого «матеріального» втілення у ви¬гляді дефініційних ознак, зафіксованих у словникових тлумаченнях. Подальша когнітивна інтерпретація лексикографічних дефініцій результується в групуванні семантично близьких семем у смислові сегменти ядра концепту. Таких сегментів налічуємо три, кожний із яких віддзеркалює певний культурний сценарій суспільної взаємодії носіїв англійської мови. Ціннісна ієрархічність таких сценаріїв відбивається у неоднорідному продукуванні медіального шару концепту іменниковими словосполученнями із семемою security, що походять із різних секторів ядерного шару. Результати проведеного лігнвокогнітивного аналізу ядерної та медіальної зон вербалізованого концепту SECURITY свідчать, що концепт SECURITY/БЕЗПЕКА в англомовній картині світу передусім визначає ідею безпеки і захисту від агресивного діяння, далі – фінансової/правової запоруки і наостанок – свободи від передчуття чогось небажаного/загрозливого. The article offers lexicographical analysis of the verbal units which form the nominative field of the concept SECURITY. The data obtained enable selecting a set of discrete meaningful parcels, namely, semes which being semantic items (thus, non-material ones) acquire their material embodiment in the form of definitive features, fixed in dictionary definitions. Cognitive interpretation of the latter resulted in grouping together several semantically close sememes into separate segments of the concept nucleus. There are tree such segments. Each of them reflects some specific cultural scenario of social interactions among English speaking people. Evaluative hierarchy of such scenarios displays itself through different intensity of creating middle layer of the concept by means of producing various nominal word combinations which contain the sememe security, coming from different segments of the nuclear layer. The results of the undertaken linguocognitive analysis of the nuclear and middle layers of the concept SECURITY prove that the concept in question, as a part of the English world image, first and foremost accentuates the idea of security and protection against aggressive influence, then the idea of financial/legal guarantee is put forward, and then comes the idea of freedom from anxiety/danger.
