The article highlighted the problem of relations between concepts text and discourse in domestic and foreign studies of modern literary prose texts through the prism of the author and the reader. The focus is on the social, cultural and historical features of the current French literature. The necessity of taking into account the characteristics of the analysis of discourse in studies of literary prose texts is proved. The article defines the differences and similarities of literary text and literary discourse, and reveals the author and reader modes of interaction with literary text on the basis of the definition of the communicative situation of a literary text. The concept of «artistic text» and «artistic discourse» in studies of art prose texts are not opposed to each other, they are neither identical nor dummy. Communicative situation of literary discourse involves the author and the reader's contact with the artistic text and through artistic text. Taking into account the features of artistic discourse and combining approaches in the study of textual language units of modern French literary prose texts is necessary because the process is dictated by the specific literature in France. The value of discourse and text features becomes relevant not only in line with the concept of postmodernism, but in modern French literature in general. In this article the linguistic peculiarities of constructing the discourse stances in the risk referential situation are researched. The referential situation is treated as a non-conventional communicative event, in which the participants act in dissimilar spatial and temporal conditions. In the risk referential situation ‘risk’ becomes its referent point. We investigate various language means chosen by the subjects in the process of their stancetaking in the same referential situation. In this paper the situation concerning mobile phones risks is being analyzed. The main language means for creating contrasting stances are discovered and studied in the English media discourse. The article deals with the study of non-standard communicative situations in the English dialogical discourse which take place in the cases when an addressee does not provide a direct answer to an addresser’s question, thereby violating a typical structural connection of utterances in the dialogue. The paper investigates the reasons and peculiarities of an unplanned perlocutionary effect which is the result of an addressee’s evasion of a direct answer to an addresser’s interrogative sentence. The article examines the peculiarity of using an interrogative sentence by an addressee on a pragmatic level and demonstrates the necessity of non-verbal means of communication in non-standard communicative situations. The article is devoted to the problems of interpretation of the image of the angel as the eternal image in the pieces of poetry of European romanticists. The central point of the research is four national variants of angelology in the creative works of Taras Shevchenko, William Blake, Heinrich Heine and Mіkhail Lermontov. The question is sure not in the general picture of national peculiarity but in its separate elements, first and foremost in the context of the problem of religion and Romanticism. The article presents the subject-matter of political disсourse analysis as a new branch of linguistics. The main attention is focused on the research aspects concerning the essence and phenomenology of the political disсourse. The paper deals with the definitions based on the differentiation of the institutional and non-institutional speech forms and such approaches to the political discourse interpretation as linguistic, cratologic, and semiotic ones. The latter is presented in many works. The article is devoted to an actual issue of modern linguistics: the study of rhythm as an important functional phonostylistic characteristic of a sounded text. Rhythm is a dynamic complex of the interaction of language levels, is able to activate the perception of the listener, to give him the author's intent. The overall tone of the text, understanding the semantics are most dependent on the rhythmic interaction of language levels. Rhythm provides rhetorical appropriateness, clarity, and is a complex mechanism of oratory. The meaning of the rhythm in a sounded literary text is studied. It attempts to identify the mechanism of action on a listener using techniques of rhythmic organization of the text. It is proved that the rhythmic techniques make possible the intensity and empathy of the recipient, as well as act as means of rendering feelings and emotions. This interpretation allows us to emphasize the pragmatic nature of the rhythm. This article presents the description of Man and Nature integrated frame as a cognitive structures based on the categorical knowledge about nature and man and investigates the complex of ideas embodied in the natural images in the works of Lawrence and Kobylyanska. It focuses on the notion of literary discourse, while its frame organization is treated as a system of elements that embody the reality from aesthetic and artistic point of view, featuring social, pragmatic and national characteristics.
