On the basis of separation of inherent structural elements (functional, verbal, substantive, temporal, personal) in ritual phenomena and comparative analysis of their variability, the variants of the paschal cycle consuetudes and rituals from Western Polissia were defined. Such variants are being identified in ceremonialisms dedicated to «Zapusty», «Seredohresnyi Tyzhden», «Easter of Dead», «Pereplavna Sereda», in Polish festival «Bozhe Tilo» distribution. These variants may be observed in «volochebni», memorial and mermaid traditions. It is found out that the festivals of «Vlas» and «Deviatuha» are not celebrated within the explored territory. The value of this site is foremost in its geographical location, since Zhytomyr's Polissia was a “blank” on the maps of the Stone Age sites of Ukraine until recently and it was considered as unpromising for research. Besides, in the contrast to other sites of the region this site is stratified which means that archaeological artifacts were hardly affected by natural and anthropological factors. The clergy generally wanted to stay away from hostilities of Russian and French empires. Few catholic and uniate priests supported Napoleon and tried to turn Orthodix Christian to Catholicism. Otrhodox priests had to either leave territory or to pledge allegiance to Napoleon. Jesuits, Old Believers, Uniates and hasids supported Russian Empire.
