Дрозда «Листя землі»: морфологічний рівень Автори: Яворський, Андрій; Yavorskyi, Andrii Короткий огляд (реферат): На матеріалі роману Володимира Дрозда «Листя землі» проаналізовано особливості української східнополіської говірки на морфологічному та словотвірному рівнях, зокрема простежено специфіку формотворення і словотворення іменників, прикметників, дієслів, відмінності у структурі та відмінюванні займенників, в оформленні прислівників. З’ясовано пецифіку використання автором діалектних елементів. The article considers the peculiarities of Polissyan dialects on morphological level, including specificity of nouns, adjectives and verbs form- building, differences in pronoun structure and conjugation, in numerals and adverbs processing. The author places impotance on the morphological level, since it is fully and systematically reflected in the novel «Leaves of the Land» by Ukrainian writer Volodymyr Drozd. Polissyan word forms used by the writer are systematized and commented in terms of their origin. The emphasis is laid on the specificity of use of the Polissyan patois elements by the author and the function of the dialectal words in the artistic language. V. Drozd uses elements of dialects only in very lengthy stories and memoirs of the characters (traditional dialogues in the novel, in fact, are absent), while the author’s speech at a level of inflection is oriented to literary standard. The article concludes that this phenomenon is justified in view of the desire of the author most accurately and fairly reflect the local flavor of the language, and individualize characters’ speech and thus provide expressiveness.

У дослідженні ураховано низку екстралінгвальних мовних чинників, які впливають на успішність епістолярної комунікації, подано деталізований аналіз лінгвальних параметрів логіко-семантичної структури ситуації спонукання епістолярію Лесі Українки. Окрім того, уточнено категорійний статус директивних висловлень як одиниць дистанційної міжперсональної комунікації. The paper studies the main pragmatic and semantic types of directive expressions in epistolary texts of Lesia Ukrainka, in particular the author singles out expressions with semantic meaning of request, non-categorical request, advice, prohibition and desire. The paper systematizes grammatical means of expressing inductive modality, which form the core and peripheral zones of the analyzed corpus. The most frequent are the expressions, which have imperative forms of the second person singular and plural. The peripheral directive expressions encompass grammatical units with etiquette formulae and syntax- dependent infinitive, as well as transferred language units. The paper takes into account a range of extra lingual factors, which influence and determine the success of epistolary communication, and stimulates the detailed analysis of lingual parameters of logic-semantic structures in the situations of inducement in correspondence of Lesia Ukrainka. Analysis of semantic, syntactic and pragmatic aspects of the directive statements in Lesia Ukrainka’s epistolary allows to draw some conclusions as to their categorical specificity.

The article attempts to shed light on Ivan Puliui’s linguistic and political ideology based on the analysis of his recently published letters. The subject of the research includes the discription of this prominent figure’s fate aimed at substantiating that it was a way of establishing united and independent Ukrainian State. The investigation of the problem has been performed in the terms of the Ukrainian language defense, family life as an example of native language preservation in a far- off land and struggle for establishing the Ukrainian university in foreign country. The letters demonstrate the consistent linguistic and ethno-national ideology of a thinker, who not only outstripped his time, but has great impact on the modern realities with typical for them devastating linguistic bifurcation and cultivating cosmopolitism and globalization. The thinker interprets the language as a determinative culture-bearing and state-building factor and claims that among the main reasons of Ukrainian national identity absence is Ukrainian statelessness.

З’ясовано будову словникової статті реєстрових літер у досліджуваних джерелах, її лексичне наповнення та графічне увиразнення. The article attempts to analyze structural, stylistic and graphic peculiarities of modern religious ABC-books and primers. The author provides definitions of the lexemes ABC, alphabet, ABC-books, primer, compiled on the basis of the variants represented in the lexicographical sources. The emphasis is laid on the genre specifics of textbooks, which are designed not only to teach a child to read, but also to introduce him to the world of native language, and religious ABC-books also lay the foundations of Christian morality. Analysis of the structural organization of primers gives reason to believe that «Bukvaryk-vocabulary» concisely combines the features of the alphabet, vocabulary and primer, and «Orthodox primer» tends to media type that has features of the books for reading in the family. The article reports and discusses the structure of the dictionary entry of register letters in the sources under the analysis and concludes that it depends greatly on the genre of educational literature (ABC Book or Primer) and its lexical and graphic content. The perspective of further study of the problem implies comparison of architectonics of religious and secular hornbooks or primers.

Вони поширені насамперед у назвах букв грецького алфавіту, а не кирилиці. З’ясовано, що літери та графіка використовуються для прямої номінації об’єктів, творення тропів і фігур, графічного текстового оформлення, моделювання жанрової своєрідності релігійних текстів, їхньої прагматики. Описана специфіка функціонування фразеологічних одиниць зі складниками – назвами літер у релігійному стилі. The article highlights the problem of actualization of the letter names and their derivatives in the religious style and proves that it is the Bible that is the source of popularization of the lexicalized and sematicized names of the letters. From the Bible they penetrate and adapt themselves into everyday Ukrainian, that is why modern sermons are full of lexicalized and semanticized names of letters. The author also states that the phraseological units with the names of the letters mainly belong to the biblical texts. It has been clarified that the names of the Greek letters, not the Cyrillic ones, are actualized. This process has been determined by historical conditions. In fact, the term «letter» as well as its derivatives (literally, in letters,) has been always widely used in the religious style. The names of the letters are used for both nominating and forming pragmatic meanings (the nomination of objects, the formation of a great variety of tropes and figures, the genre peculiarity and a graphic design of the text). Special attention has been drawn to the fact that the lexicalized and semanticized graphemes and idioms containing them, are transferred into other styles of the language from the religious sources.

The article reveals the features of peripheral proper nouns in Valery Shevchuk’s novel «A Path in the Grass». Among the peripheral onyms the author highlighted theonyms, mifonyms, ideonyms, ergonyms, names of animals and other onomastic ranks that confer artistic text expressive-stylistic and artistic coloring. The article analyzes the functional specificity of each of the onymastic classes used by the author and identifies their structural and semantic features. In the focus of attention is their semantic loading, their quantitative and qualitative meanings. The article offers perspective vectors of the problem development aimed at revealing functional role of proper names in the story. The author states that created by the writer and being used in the text, they form special onomastic stylistically expressive literary text. The author draws the conclusions as to the contextual role of onyms, their emotional expressive meaning and comment on their symbolic function and also the role of occasional onyms in creating individual author’s writing style. Metaphorization of abstract concepts expresses the inner world of the characters and enriches the emotional context of the text.

Виокремлено лінгвальні особливості формування спадкових антропонімів, з’ясовано особливості впливу позамовних чинників на виникнення прізвищ. The article clarifies the approaches of antroponimists concerning the history of formation and linguistic specificity of Ukrainian surnames. The author offers insights into the scholars’ achievements in exploring the problem of the term «surname» meaning, highlighting the key distinctive features of surnames as a type of anthroponyms, and defines the chronology of their appearance. It has been specified that the process of establishing the family names was gradual and covered the following main stages: the emergence of a person’s two-word naming on a certain territory; stabilization of the basic word-formative types of modern surnames; juridical regulation of surnames. The author places importance on the lingual peculiarities of the inheritable anthroponyms formation, reveals the level of the extralinguistic factors’ influence on the appearance of surnames. Scientists’ conceptions and approaches concerning various characteristic aspects of this specific kind of anthroponyms have been systematized in the article.

Назва: Types of lexical transformations in closely related literary translation Автори: Pryimachok, Oksana; Приймачок, Оксана Короткий огляд (реферат): The article is devoted to a detailed description of the possible translation (cross- anguage) transformations that occur in inter-Slavic translations, the specificity of which is based on deep genetic relationship between source and target languages. Such types of lexical transformations as encoding, lexical-semantic substitutions, lexical-stylistic replacement and explication have been analyzed in the context of the problem under discussion. The research has been done on the materials of Mykhailo Stelmakh’s stories «The Geese are Flying» and «The Holy Supper» since the examples are rather illustrative. Статтю присвячено детальному описові можливих перекладацьких (міжмовних) трансформацій лексичного плану, що трапляються в міжслов’янському перекладі, специфіка якого ґрунтується на глибинному генетичному спорідненні мов оригіналу та перекладу. В умовах часткової українсько-російської теорії перекладу необхідно дуже чітко розмежовувати поняття міжмовних відповідників (еквівалентів) і різноманітних трансформацій лексичного, фразеологічного чи граматичного плану, що виникають через відсутність еквівалента в мові перекладу. Зрозуміло, що частка вимушених трансформацій у перекладі зі спорідненої мови буде значно меншою, ніж із мови неспорідненої. У цій роботі досліджено такі основні типи лексичних трансформацій, як транскодування (у вигляді транскрипції та транслітерації), лексико-семантичні заміни (генералізація, конкретизація, модуляція), лексико-стилістичні заміни та експлікація (у вигляді описового чи приблизного перекладу). Матеріалом для дослідження стали повісті Михайла Стельмаха «Гуси-лебеді летять…» та «Щедрий вечір».

Проаналізовано розмовну лексику, яка є емоційно забарвленою та виконує функцію оцінки й характеристики. Зроблено висновки, що зневажливі, лайливі та вульгарні слова належать до розмовної лексики, яка є стилістично зниженою. У публіцистичних текстах вони часто вживані у статтях на суспільно-політичні теми, де описують вибори та учасників передвиборних перегонів, військові дії на Сході нашої держави і відносини України з Росією. The article considers the peculiarities of using stylistically reduced vocabulary, low unrefined lexics with derogatory, abusive and vulgar shade of meaning in the language of national press in the beginning of XXI century. The author draws on recent researches of linguists in the field of these words functioning and their role in modern Ukrainian literary language development. It was concluded that derogatory, abusive and vulgar words refer to spoken language which is emotive. In journalistic texts they are often used in articles on social and political issues, which describe the election and electoral contestants, military activities in the East of our country and Ukraine’s relations with Russia. Stylistically low unrefined lexics has negative-evaluative meaning, with these words the author expresses his own emotions and feelings of condemnation, contempt, disapproval, disgust to the events, that are taking place, or people who initiated those events. The author concludes that dismissive, abusive and vulgar language undermines linguistic-stylistic norms, but at the same time this lexics performs evaluative and expressive function as it is an ideal means of characterization of both people and events.
